I know. Things have been tough in this atmosphere. The world looks scary on our feeds. Maybe home feels scary too. Or maybe you are worried about how you will pull things off this time. If God will come through. And if this atmosphere has done anything it has been both bring us joy and equal reminders of just how much we need God.
We need God on our screens. God in our polotics. God in our homes. God just to go to Costco! I even take God to Popeyes. And I’m pretty sure God already lives at Popeyes. (If you know you know.)
I know. The world and many of your own personal worlds feel like they may be burning to the ground. But I wanted to take a second to sit with the Holy Spirit and inquire of Him about what you might need to hear today.
This is post is little reminder that He loves you. That you’re going to get through this and that His Word is FULL to the BRIM of promises and goodness that are yours to grasp anytime you like.
Here are 5 truths God wants you to know…
He has a good plan for your life. Jeremiah 29:11
The Lord promises that He has a good plan for you. GOOD. Even here. Even today. Even when it looks like nothing is going your way. When all the odds feel stacked against you. Write this verse on the tablet of your heart. His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you. Those very same plans will give you a life, a future and a hope. Don’t let the devil lie to you. (Kick him in the weenie! And remind him who your God is!)
God will be your husband. Isaiah 54
When you’re married and when you’re not, alone or booed up, God assures us that He is our Husband. A good one too. He never fails us. Never leads us poorly or hurts our hearts with hateful words or actions. He says here in Isaiah 54 that He will provide for us. It’s safe to lean in to His heart and His promise to you. What a beautiful truth!
You can’t ask for too much. James 4:2
God’s Word says, “You have not because you ask not.” Sometimes we feel strange or greedy being specific. Or when we have need, we ask very blanket termed. When my kids thank me for a gift that feels kind. When they thank me for getting groceries. That feels weird! Not because I don’t want them to have manners but because they should EXPECT me to provide for them. I’m their mom. They know they don’t have to say it. They just like to say it. With God, I believe we should always say it. We should always be grateful to God for what He gives us - just don’t forget that you can EXPECT Him to be, well, Himself.
Sometimes this gratitude sounds like, “God, thank you for coming through! I KNEW You would! It is just Who you are!”
He is no respector of persons. Romans 2:11-12
Paul was saying to the Romans that what He did for one He will absolutely do for another. You didn’t need to be brought up in church. Or rich. Or “good.” Or working your fingers to the bone. If He did it for someone else, even if you “think” they are “better” than you… guess again. He is known for repeating miracles! He is known for saving people in their lowest moments. He is known for taking the least of these and making them the head and not the tail.
Nothing can take you out of His hand. John 10:27
Not even you, monkey butt. :) Not even you. Chill out. It’s going to be ok. We’re gonna ace this week. We’re gonna give Him the glory and we’re gonna remember that He has our back. Ok?
If you need me I’ll be in my office, but I couldn’t resist making you laugh like I do when we sit and talk about what’s going on, why you’re worried or why you think God forgot. He didn’t forget, friend. He didn’t. He loves you and it will, indeed, be ok. I tell you that often. I mean it.
I hope these things God wanted you to know coat your heart like a balm and carry you into the second half of your week remembering He will not fail you.
Lean into His love for you. It’s trustable! You won’t fall. Trust fall…
